Our offer:
· Maths
We focus on real life problems so that students can relate to and want to solve. Students are challenged and encouraged to work independently to develop confidence in their mathematic ability. The curriculum is designed to prepare students to access Maths GCSE.
. Themed Based Learning – English and History
We focus on developing English skills through the learning of different historical themes. Students develop their understanding of how society has developed and are engaged in learning through historical events that have shaped the world in which we live.
. Science
We focus on real life science and the impact it has on their lives. Students study biology, chemistry and physics but connections between the sciences are encouraged. The curriculum is designed to prepare students the access Science GCSE.
· Sport - PE
We want all students to take part in physical activity for both physical and mental health reasons. Students learn about living a healthy life through exercise and lifestyle. A number of activities are provided to ensure all students take part in physical exercise.
. RSE/PSHE
We focus on developing an understanding of the world so students can develop the skills needed to function and stay safe in society. Students learn from real life examples and are given the opportunity to contribute towards the lesson. The curriculum is designed around the key PSHE themes and includes the development of personal skills.

Aim
To engage all students; inspire a love of learning and prepare students with the skills needed to function in society. SEMH is delivered in lessons were appropriate and a focus on developing positive relationships to support learning.
Lesson structure
Recall – previous learning
New learning – introduce new concepts or develop previous knowledge/skills (20 minutes)
Revise – rehearse developed knowledge/skills
Behaviour for learning
Acknowledge – negative behaviour
Correct – explain what behaviour you expect and why you need to behave that way
Time – give time and space for students to change their behaviour
